PACK the PEWS this Sunday, March 3 (8 and 10 AM) – Help end hunger in Minnesota. Bring your donations to church this Sunday to be blessed and distributed to the hungry in our community!

March is Minnesota FoodShare Month, the largest grassroots food and fund drive in the state. Bring your donations of nonperishable foods and household goods to church on Pack the Pews Sunday, March 3.
Stop by the church entrance and grab a grocery bag with a list of needed items or fill any bag from a grocery store or that you have at home. Donated bags of food will be blessed during the 10am worship and then delivered to Hallie Q. Brown. Parishioner, Vern Kassekert, brought Pack the Pews to St. John’s in 2015. Vern is not able to physically serve in the fight against hunger this year so let’s do him proud and Pack Our Pews in his honor!
You can also help by donating funds. Food shelves can stretch cash further because of their access to discount products and bulk-buying programs. Click here to donate online or send a check payable to ‘Hallie Q. Brown Community Center’ and write “Food Shelf/SJE” in the memo line.
Needed non-perishable items include:
- Dry Beans
- Low-sodium Soups
- Canned Stews
- Chicken, Beef & Vegetable Broth
- Peanut Butter
- Rolled Oats
- Canned Tomatoes
- Canned Meat & Chicken
- Canned Seafood & Tuna (in water)
- Low Sugar Cereals
