Job Opening: Assistant for Children, Youth and Family Faith Formation

 
Position: Children, Youth, and Family Faith Formation Assistant.
Status: Part Time. Approximately 10 hours per week, over 12 months. This position requires some evenings and/or weekend work depending on the CYF Faith Formation calendar of events. The hours are flexible as workload demands, with the exception of Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings during the program year.

Job Summary: This is the administrative, coordinating, and communications function of the Children, Youth, and Family Ministry. The CYF Assistant will assist in executing the mission of St. John’s by implementing strong organizational systems and practices. The incumbent will need to develop strong partnerships with other members of the CYF team, volunteers, and families.
Reports to: The CYF Assistant will be a key member of the Children, Youth and Family Faith Formation team, and will report to the Director of Children, Youth and Family Faith Formation.
Responsibilities: Including, but not limited to:

Godly Play:

  • Create and manage on-line registration
  • Create paper registration to have available
  • Assist Director with set up of Godly Play rooms
  • Create and manage volunteer sign up for Godly Play greeters and First Sunday coffee hour hosts
  • Assist Director of CYF with on-going volunteer recruitment
  • Maintain supplies and resources for CYF faith formation in an organized manner, including Godly Play stories. Inventory all curriculum including Godly Play stories

Youth:

  • Create and manage on-line registration
  • Create paper registration to have available
  • Create and manage volunteer sign up for Wednesday dinners
  • Assist Director of CYF with on-going volunteer recruitment

 Qualifications Required:

  • Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality
  • PC skills, including word processing
  • Ability to compose correspondence, minutes and/or reports
  • Ability to create and modify documents using Microsoft Office
  • Ability to organize events and meetings
  • Ability to present an outgoing and cordial disposition to visitors and callers
  • Ability to professionally communicate with those who call, write, or visit
  • Ability to work as a team player with staff, volunteers, and diocesan personnel
  • College degree or post-secondary courses
