On Sunday, March 10th at 4:00 pm, the parish choir will sing Evensong for the season of Lent. As the service proceeds, the shadows in the church lengthen and candle light replaces the light of the sun – lending a quiet peacefulness to our hurried lives.
Following the service, the choir will present a performance of The Peaceable Kingdom by Randall Thompson. The unaccompanied sequence of sacred choruses was inspired by Edward Hicks’ painting of the same title and the Book of Isaiah, which also informed Hicks’ painting.
A festive reception will follow the service. On exhibit at the reception will be an artwork by parishioner Helen Boyer, titled The Peaceable Kingdom Revisited.
Please join us for the service and bring along a friend or two.
