At Saint John’s we have set up the “Mustard Seed” offering as a way to give above and beyond our usual Faith-in-Action programs. Sometimes this means an extra gift to partners in the neighborhood, and sometimes, when tragedy strikes, it means raising funds to support the relief effort. This Sunday, September 3, in response to Hurricane Harvey and the devastation it has wrought, we will be taking up a Mustard Seed offering to give to the relief efforts underway through Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD). ERD is on the ground providing very real and tangible aid to the hurricane’s victims. We have a long relationship of partnering with ERD and are confident that we can trust our donations will be put to full use in the long and difficult work of bringing relief after the storm. Sunday you can put cash or check in the Mustard Seed envelopes (with “ERD” or “Hurricane Harvey” in the memo) and we will ensure that our offering gets to Episcopal Relief and Development. You can also make a donation at any time at http://www.episcopalrelief.org
I hope you will join me in praying for the victims of hurricane and the resulting floods.
