April 7 Sacrifice: What do we owe each other? For whom would you make a major sacrifice? Your parents? Children? Friends? Who has made significant sacrifices for you? Explore this fundamental Christian theme using excerpts from the movie “Saving Private Ryan.” The Reverend Barbara Mraz facilitates.
April 14 and 21Facing Death. New parishioner Steve Sims, Spiritual Care coordinator for the hospice program in the Fairview system, speaks about end-of-life  issues, bereavement, and dealing with the death or illness of a loved one. What do we do? What do we say?
April 28 – Chased by the Light. One of the world’s greatest nature photographers gives himself a Zen-like assignment of taking only one photograph a day for 90 days. See video excerpts from Jim Brandenburg’s amazing journey to mindfulness and relearn the importance of paying attention. Facilitator: The Reverend Barbara Mraz.
May 5th – Hearts to Homes: An update  from this important parish outreach program. Learn what Hearts to Homes does and who is helped.
May 12th – Questions and Answers About the Media And How It Affects Us.  Wrap-up  of  earlier presentations with Phil Rose and discussion of some provocative questions posed by youth and leaders.
May 19th – Mission & Education in a Radical Muslim Heartland: A View from Peshawar: Canon Dr. Titus Presler, Principal, Edwardes College, Peshawar. Peshawar is the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the province along Pakistan’s northwest frontier with Afghanistan, the heartland of the Tabliban and the scene of ongoing political and religious violence. In this environment Edwardes College is a church-sponsored undergraduate and graduate institution of 2,800 students and 105 faculty, 90% of them Muslim.  Titus will talk about initiatives in interfaith understanding, gender relations, integrity nurture and support for the Christian community in a setting where differences are hard to negotiate.
