Giving & Growing
At St. John’s, our community life programs, pastoral care, worship & music, and Christian education lead us to serve God as we do our part to meet the needs of the world. For nearly 130 years, St. John’s has served the spiritual needs of our faith community and reached beyond our walls to serve God and all people. As we move into 2013, our mission, of serving our community and world, is more important than ever.
St. John’s relies on pledges to fulfill its mission– to welcome all people into this community of faith and to show forth our service to God in our service to others. Because of this, we are asking for your financial pledge, your commitment, in order for our Church to remain vibrant, sustainable and to have an impact for years to come.
How will you give through St. John’s?

Annual Pledge Drive 2013 – Update on 1/13/13
The total pledge income and gifts for last year (2012) was $550,000. This included substantial one-time gifts intended to ramp up our ministries during the first full year of our new rector’s tenure. In 2013 we’d like to continue at that level, but it will require increases in existing pledges and new pledges to reach our goal. Many of you have already responded generously by continuing your pledge from last year or committing to pledge for the first time in 2013. We’re still about $70,000 short of our goal, however. In response, a small group of parishioners has stepped forward and created a matching fund to encourage you to increase your continuing pledge over last year, or begin to pledge for the first time this year. They will match your pledge increase or new pledge dollar for dollar, up to $35,000, in order to achieve our goal. Why? Because they sense the Spirit of God at work among us and want to continue our ministries at their current level. Please prayerfully consider joining them by beginning or increasing your financial pledge to St. John’s for 2013.
You can submit a pledge card to the Church Office or in the offering plate, or go online to www.stjohnsstpaul.org, and click on the “Pledge Now” button in the upper right corner of the home page. Remember, every “new” pledge dollar you commit now becomes two! If you’d like more information, you can contact any member of the Executive Committee of your Vestry: Libby Snelson, Senior Warden (651-222-6965), Don Postema, Junior Warden (651-483-3062), Rick Rinkoff, Treasurer (651-222-3772), and The Reverend Jered Weber-Johnson, Rector (612-758-0514).
