Yes, winter has been a constant reminder of just how cold it can be and just how much snow can accumulate!  What I like most about winter are the days when the sun shines and no matter how cold it is that sun warms my face and reminds me of warmer days.  We pile on the clothes, start our cars to warm, or sometimes have to stand in the cold to wait for a bus, we shiver and shake and long for the warm cup of chocolate or a bowl of hot soup.  Yes, winter gives us time to remember the simple things we take for granted during the summer.

Winter hasn’t slowed us down here at St. John’s.  We continue to offer all the programs that enliven, enlighten and encourage.  This week is a special Sunday so mark your calendars and join us!

Annual Meeting for the year ending 2010!

This Sunday, January 23, we will gather in the gym following the 10 a.m. service to share a lunch and hold the Annual Meeting.  Come participate in the business side of the parish. Meet with other parishioners and have some fun as we continue to the work we have been given to do.

9 A.M. Adult Ed on “Worship” in the Fireside Room

We have two more Sundays to share our perspectives on worship.  The sessions have been lively and interactive.  Please join us.

11:15 A.M. “Worship” Discussions continue in the Library

The discussions around worship following the 10 a.m. service will continue as long as there is an interest.  This is particularly important for those who sing in the choir.  We moved it to the Library so we can drink coffee during our discussions.

8 A.M. Service Moving to the Chapel

For the month of February the 8 A.M. worship service will be held in the Chapel.  It is a lovely, cozy place which we have now found a way to heat so that you will be comfortably warm.  Prayer Books will be moved in there and we are looking for pew cushions for your comfort. This is an experiment so come try it out!

Wednesday 11 A.M. Bible Study

Each week an open Bible Study takes place down in the Library at 11 A.M.  Did you know that?  And you can join us if you are available.  No homework.  We use the lessons for the upcoming Sunday and spend wonderful time together discussing, reflecting, sharing and learning from one another.  Please consider joining us.  It is informal and all are invited!
