All members of St. John’s over 13 can join the altar guild. You are welcome to talk to a volunteer in the sacristy before and after services, or you may contact Diane Power, Altar Guild Coordinator at 651-222-1031 or email@example.com.

Saint John the Evangelist is a safe space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people.
A welcoming space is a wonderful and hospitable thing! We welcome visitors and long time parishioners alike each time we gather.
Being a safe space goes a few steps beyond being a welcoming space. As a safe space, we strive to create a faith community where everyone’s story is respected as their own, held in confidence, and not shared without their permission. We speak from our own experience, and ask others what they need in order to feel comfortable in our faith community. We listen. At the same time, we recognize that everyone is human, and may make judgmental or prejudiced statements. We do not shame or shun one another; rather we seek inclusive conversation. Consider the ways you tell your story, and the ways you encourage others to share their own stories. Our attitude towards one another makes us a safe space.
We celebrate and affirm people of all sexualities and all genders, and welcome them in all areas of our life together: worshipping in our pews, getting married in our church, participating in our ministries (including our LGBTQ+ Spiritual Life Group), and serving as lay leaders, staff, and clergy.
Jesus taught love of God and love of neighbor as the most important commandments. When we create a safe environment for everyone, we honor his teaching.

The young (20- and 30-something) adults of St. John’s gather regularly for food, fellowship, and various fun activities. On the third Sunday of every month, they go out for brunch after the 10:00am liturgy. The group gathers at the coffee hour and then heads to one of the diners near the church. They also get together at least one weeknight of the month, some times just for food and drinks, other times for activities like mini-golf, trivia, or a Minnesota United match.
There’s no expectation that you’ve been involved in St. John’s at all before. Anyone who identifies as a Young Adult is welcome to show up and hang out!
For more information about the monthly brunches, contact Jayan Nair at email@example.com. To learn more about the other young adult activities, get in touch with Kevin Seitz-Paquette at firstname.lastname@example.org.
